Korting Hannover AG are a large German manufacturer established in 1876 and still seeking solutions for industrial energy and environmental requirements. Otterson Associates represents their Division U which offers oil, gas or dust fired burners for process heating and venturi scrubbers for absorption, dust removal, cooling and cleaning of flue gases.
For the Wood Based Panel Industry the Korting CK Burner leads the field, able to run on 100% sander dust with complete combustion. The CK burner is also able to be fired with coal dust. Models varying from 3 - 42 MW are available. There are seven installations in Australia and New Zealand in Particleboard driers, pre-driers and hot oil units.
In a new drier installation we suggest the use of a Korting burner mounted in a vertical firing chamber. This configuration eliminates the need for brick lining and the cost and time of frequent refractory replacement.
The latest Korting flue gas venturi scrubber has been incorporated in the Western Mining (WMC) copper smelter at Olympic Dam in South Australia.
